I'VE REMOVED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONTAINING BOTH CIRCUIT BOARDS AND EXAMINED THOROUGHLY, STILL NO LUCK. PLEASE HELP, CANT GO THROUGH EMISSIONS TESTING WITHOUT THE ODOMETER. THE ODOMETER AND PRND321 ARE ON THEIR OWN CIRCUIT BOARD UTILIZING A PIG TAIL CONNECTOR TO JOIN TO THE MAIN CIRCUIT BOARD THAT HAS EVERYTHING ELSE.

When the ignition key is turned on and the engine is off the instrument cluster will perform a self test. The instrument cluster test checks the function of any gauges and also checks the illumination of all lights in the cluster including the odometer and the shift indicator. If the odometer does not light up then this will confirm a problem.
In most cases if the odometer does not work or illuminate and the speedometer does work the problem is usually inside the instrument cluster and it would have to be removed from the vehicle and repaired or replaced.
Taking the vehicle to a dealer their scan tool can test the instrument cluster to confirm the failure (if any) of the odometer function and illumination.
