running hot

I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima and have replaced the thermostat and water pump but it stills runs hot, what else do i need to check

Sometimes when work is done on the cooling system the system can get air bound.

To fix this jack up the front of the car and put on jack stands or you can use ramps. Remember to chock the rear wheels for safety.

Remove the radiator cap and start the engine and let it run until it gets hot. The purpose for jacking the car up in the air is to get the radiator higher than the engine so the air can escape.

Keep watching the coolant level and keep refilling the radiator to maintain the coolant level. After awhile the coolant level will stop dropping and you can then replace the radiator cap and test drive the car. It should be ok after this. If not repeat the above procedure again to make sure all the air is purged from the system.
