Putting it in neutral

Does putting my van in neutral every time I am at a red light damage anything?  I heard it will damage my torque converter, whatever that is.

Re: Putting it in neutral

When you keep switching from drive to neutral it will usually cause no harm to the transmission or torque converter.

The constant switching could wear out the shift linkage prematurely. That's the only thing I can think of at this time.

There is usually no benefit to the constant switching of gears so it would probably be a good idea to just keep it in drive.
