1999 Ford F250 4x4 gas , fuse and switch OK but no power to brake light switch (5pin). Please help?
Check your brake sensor; I think it on the brake lever. It's the size of a tic tac box and is black. You can get it at a Ford dealer for about $13.00 dollars.
Not the switch it has no power! 2 green wires at the (5 wire) brake switch can anyone tell me if the switch gets 12 V directly from the fuse? Thanks
The green wire has a red tracer and goes to the brake switch from fuse #13 and also has a splice number S221 that goes to the flasher relay. Your problem could be at the splice if you have a good fuse and no power at the brake switch.
Thanks a lot!
It just dawned on me that there is a brake controller plugged into the harness via a factory connector, more possible splice connections.
I think I found it, the fuse was loose and as long as you held a test light to it would make contact. As soon as you removed the test light the power stopped to the brake switch.
