I have a 2001 Beetle Bug Turbo Sport. Recently, if I try to accelerate quickly (put the pedal to the floor) it is as if I'm giving gas before it catches. It "revs" out with the gas given but does not match acceleration. The gas is given, it is received, it revs out, and catches up. The analogy I would give is this. When you drive a motorcycle you give gas and then release the clutch. When I drive my standard 5 speed bug I give gas and the acceleration eventually catches up, but they do not match. Does that make sense?
Your may want to get your car checked out by a professional mechanic or your local dealer and have them look into a slipping clutch. It could be a hydraulic problem or a bad clutch. You could be looking at a clutch job.
