Aftermarket cold air intake systems make claims of increased engine efficiency and performance. The principle behind a cold air intake is that cooler air has a higher density, thus containing more oxygen per volume unit than warmer air. The more air in the cylinder, the more horsepower and torque you get from the combustion process.
