Fuel pump

I have a 1973 Mercedes Benz 300sel 4.3 and my fuel pump is leaking. I am looking for a universal replacement but am unsure of the psi and gph needed. Any info would be helpful, I really don't feel like spending over $600 for a fuel pump. Thanks

Re: Fuel pump

You should expect to get a pump that can deliver about 1 liter of fuel in about 40 seconds, and fuel pressure should be able to reach about 80 PSI at full pressure.

This is for a gas engine. Diesel I'm not sure about.

This is the best I can come up with. Not much information out there for something that old.

Re: Fuel pump

Thank you for the reply. It's a starting point and you are right there is not much info on this subject.
