What type of transmission oil should I use?

I need to refill the automatic transmission in a 1993 Nissan Sentra. The manual calls for Dextron II, but I believe this has been discontinued. Is it Ok to use Dextron VI instead?

Thanks.

Re: What type of transmission oil should I use?

It seems that Dextron 6 is replacing the transmission fluids for the later models of cars.

Before you refill your transmission, check with your local auto parts store just to be sure this is the right choice for your vehicle.
