Transmission fluid check interval

How often do I have to check the transmission fluid on a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII? A manual recommended an interval of 15,000 miles or 12 months. But I figure this might change after years of service. The car is running Ok and there seems to be no problems. Any suggestions?

Re: Transmission fluid check interval

Just check the fluid level at every service.

Having the fluid changed at every 50,000 miles is a routine service point.

If the car is driving fine and there aren't any shifting problems, and the fluid is still a reddish pink color and doesn't smell burned, then just follow the recommended service internal of 50,000 miles.
