Installing an Allison trans. Behind a 5.3

I've got an 04 Z/71 1500 with 200,000 miles I would like to install an Allison, but I don't  know if everything will bolt up and if all harnesses will hook up. Is this a swap that an average person could take on. This is my daily driver. I just really like the Allison and my truck so why not have both. I would  love to have a
  knowledgeable answer. Thank you.

Re: Installing an Allison trans. Behind a 5.3

For 2004 the Allison transmission was only available in the heavy duty trucks (2500/3500) with the 6.6-liter diesel, or 8.1-liter gas engine.

So, no, nothing is going to fit in your 1/2-ton -- wrong truck and engine.
