Have you checked all fuses?  The crankshaft sensor can also cause a no spark condition.  Make sure it is plugged in securely.

Re: 1995 grand prix not getting spark help please

How was the car running before you lost spark? Was it running poorly or did it just die? There are a lot of things that can give you this condition. Checking the system with a scanner for trouble codes in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) memory is a good place to start.

Assuming there is no spark, the ignition system has many components including a crank sensor, cam sensor, ignition module, coil packs (mounted on top of the ignition module), electronic spark control module and the powertrain control module (PCM). Also, fuse labeled #1 in the fuse panel is the ignition fuse which should be checked. A simple test would be to look at the engine rpm's while cranking, either with the scanner or the vehicle's tachometer. If the engine cranks and you have no RPM, the most likely problem would be the crank sensor.

Checking all of these components with a volt/ohm meter, test light, or scanner are advised rather just swapping parts. If you are not familiar with the vehicle have a trusted local repair shop check it for you.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know you make out.

I need some help with my 95 Grand Prix same thing no spark. It was running fine when I drove to work I shut it off and it has not started since. I have replaced everything you can think of and nothing helps. When I put a code scanner on it I got nothing no code at all.

Re: 1995 grand prix not getting spark help please

Even though you put in all the new parts did you check again for a no spark condition?

Go back to basics and check for spark and fuel to verify what is causing the now start.

You never let us know what size engine you have and what parts you installed new.

The car can not start for many reasons, you have to check these things out before we can go on form here. Give me as much information you can give like what you checked, how you checked it out, fuel pressure if there is any or any thing else you can give me so I can help you better.

Get back to me when you can.
