1. Manufacturer Forums:
1.1. Specific Model Forum -
This is where we cover the majority of topics involving a particular car, truck or SUV -- focusing on auto repair, consumer-technical issues and pretty much anything automotive. DO NOT post topics related to the buying, selling or trading of vehicles, parts, services, etc. That's what the Classifieds Forum is there for. Also, if your topic fits one of the other manufacturer specific subcategories, such has Performance Modifications, post the topic there, NOT in the specific model forum.
Trying to fix an oil leak on your own car? Post the topic in the Specific Model Forum for that vehicle. Want to Sell the car because the repair is too expensive? Post an advertisement in the Classifieds Forum of your car's manufacturer. Curious about sport-tuning the suspension with a set of BILSTEIN Struts? Ask a few questions in the brand's Modifications Forum.
1.2. Classifieds Forum -
Buying, selling or trading automotive products, including vehicles, auto parts, tools, services, etc. Each Classifieds Forum is listed under a specific manufacturer in order to group the products accordingly. DO NOT post advertisements in a specific model forum. Advertisements for all vehicle models and related products belong in the Classifieds Forum.
If you would like to sell an Acura Legend (or wheels for an Acura Legend ), go to the Acura Forums and submit a post in the Classifieds Forum, NOT the Legend Forum.
You may Upload images
and add them to a post as part of a product advertisement. The limit is 3 images per topic in order to reduce page load. If the option is abused it will be removed.
1.3. Modifications Forum -
The fun stuff! Whether the topic is an extreme engine performance boost like an aftermarket supercharger, or sprucing up an interior with custom seat covers, this is the place to chat. Remember, we're talking about aftermarket upgrades and add-ons, NOT assembly line available options or replacement service parts (specific model forum topics). Subjects involve choosing, installing and repairing these auto enthusiast deemed products. When it gets to the point of buying, selling, or trading, post the topic in the Classifieds Forum for the specific manufacturer(s) the product was designed for.
1.4. Classic/Vintage/Antique Forum -
Unfortunately, it's tough to list a forum for every car and truck ever built. And we know there are a lot of near-and-dear older vehicles which enthusiasts love to chat about. So here's the forum to do just that. And if you feel a specific old timer is popular enough to warrant its own forum, Contact Us
and we'll do the rest. Remember, regardless of the vehicle, all advertising takes place in the Classifieds Forum of the manufacturer.
1.5. New Concepts Forum -
This is where we discuss reports and auto show appearances of the latest new car and truck concepts. Whether it's an early sketch, or a concept vehicle nearing production status, it's always fascinating to watch. And not just new vehicle concepts, there's lots of breakthrough automotive technology to talk about.
1.6. Non-Specific Forum -
If a topic does not involve a specific model we have listed, one of the other subcategories, and you're not buying, selling or trading (Classifieds), here's the place to discuss just about anything else that pertains to this particular manufacturer. If the subject is more general, and does not directly involve an automaker, check out our General Automotive Forums on the Index page.
If you're interested in a car, truck or SUV model we do not have listed, Contact Us
and we'll do our best in adding a new forum.
2. General Automotive Forums:
2.1. Service Information Forum -
A General Automotive Forum to discuss service and maintenance information for both professionals and do-it-yourselfers -- what's available, where to get it and what's the expense? There's nothing more important in the auto repair field. Check out realworldautomotive.com's Auto Repair Manuals
and Technical Service Bulletins
sections to get a head start.
2.2. Auto Repair Shops Forum -
We've all been there and done that. Here's a place to talk about auto repair shop experiences. There's got to be some horror stories, but there are some good people working on our cars too. Discuss both independent shops and dealership service departments, but if you're getting into the details of a repair, post the topic under our list of automotive makes and models.
Also, take a look at our Auto Repair Shops
2.3. Fuel Economy Forum -
Big-time subject in today's economy. Here's where we chat about getting the most miles-per-gallon out of the vehicle we're driving, and the one we're getting ready to buy. We have to stay on top of the latest available technology, and stuff in the works for new car production, including hybrids, alternative fuel, hydrogen fuel cells, advanced combustion processes and so on. If the talk is really about one particular vehicle, post the topic under the automaker and model.
2.4. Reliability Forum -
There are those of use who want a bulletproof ride -- vehicles that keep us away from repair shop cost and aggravation. Chat about determining which vehicles hold up the best, and exchange stories about the ones that don't make it around the block. Here it's OK to talk about a particular car and it's overall reliability, but if it gets down to one tough repair, post the topic under make and model.
2.5. Car Safety -
It doesn't get more critical than safety factors in the automotive world. We may not realize it, but behind the wheel is a dangerous place to be. Exchange stories of how your lives have been affected by a near miss or a tragic collision. Also, let's talk about the latest and greatest in automotive technology which improves our chances on the road. Go to our Car Safety
section for additional information.
2.6. Car and Truck Value -
What's the right price for a particular car, truck or SUV? It's good to learn the best recourses for value estimation, and how to fix-it-up before putting a sign in the rear window, or eBay, which ever comes first. Explain your dos and don'ts.
2.7. Fuel Cost Forum -
This is where we chat on, not miles-per-gallon, but where to find the cheapest pump. It's also important to stay up to date on national and global events affecting our energy resources. Check out realworldautomotive.com's Fuel Cost
main page. There's a convenient map to help find your best local
2.8. Open Chat Forum -
OK, if you're not interested in chatting about any of our General Automotive subjects, or a specific make and model (including modifications), or buying or selling a vehicle, parts, services etc, then you're in the right place. Talk about whatever you like in the Open Chat Forum. If you feel there is a popular subject which should be a part of Real-World Automotive, by all means Contact Us
and we'll do our best to open a new forum.
