Engine swap

I put my 1994 4.3 vortec Chevy s10 in my 1997 Chevy 1500, but the intake manifold wiring does not work for 1994 s10. Can I use the intake off the 1997, which is also a 4.3 vortec. I know the 1994 intake goes in on an angle and the 1997 intake goes in straight. Is there a way to make it work? If not can I use the wiring harrness fron the 1994 s10 in the 1997 1500?

Re: Engine swap

As far as I know the 1994 manifold is a 4.3 Z engine and the 1997 4.3 is a W engine. They are different design.

Explain to me how the wiring harness does not work.

I am not sure if the swap can be done, the only way to get this proper information is to call a parts distributor or salvage yard and ask them if they are interchangeable.

Re: Engine swap

I was told that the connection on the intake manifold was different.  The 94 intake manifold also went in on an angle and the 97 went in straight. I was going to get an adapter plate for that problem but if they are not compatible no sense in that.
