I found two hub caps in a farm machinery junk yard in rural Pennsylvania. I cannot find an exact match anywhere on the Internet. I have two two different car buddies telling me two different things. One guy is saying 1930s Buick and one guy is saying 1950s Bentley. I have spent many hours researching both and cannot find an exact match. Any help would be much appreciated.
I have done a lot of research myself and I can almost be certain your friend is correct on the 1930's Buick hub cap.The website I listed below is an ad from ebay, from what the seller says they may be around 1934. These hubcaps almost look exactly like yours but shiny.
This is the website, http://picclick.ca/Vintage-1930s-Buick-…02071.html
There is also another one at this website, http://www.ebay.com/itm/1931-1932-1933-…017?_ul=BO
Also at this website, https://www.google.com/search?q=1934+Bu…G7lt0g6NM:
That is it. Thank you very much. They are pretty cool. I might just hang them in my man cave.
If I were to try to sell them on eBay would you recommend having them chromed? That looks like what the eBay seller did because the black paint around the B is gone or should I just leave them as is?
Again, thank you very much for your help. One of the fun parts of finding old things is the detective work involved in determining their origin and original use, but this one was hard to find.
That is up to you on what to do with them. Keeping them original is always better but shiny chrome is also good for a nice sale for someone looking for the exact thing.
Thanks again for your help!
