Long term reliability of 08-09 CTS-V?

Am thinking of buying used. Consumer reports gives the V6 a bad rating. Does not mention V-series.
Any thoughts?

Re: Long term reliability of 08-09 CTS-V?

Big difference in the CTS-V is the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and other sport add-ons. Otherwise it's the same basic car.

So you may want to look at the details of the ratings from Consumer Reports. If a lot of the issues are not drivetrain related, the CTS-V probably won't make much of a difference.

And as far as reliability in general -- if that's a priority -- perhaps you should explore another brand.
