Unfortunately, claims of fraud are warranted in some cases. But not all auto repair business owners, managers and automotive technicians are the bad guys. There are a lot of honest, hard working, qualified professionals doing their part in the auto repair industry. And let me tell you something, it's not an easy job.
Sometimes it's just a question of finding the right place to bring your car, truck or SUV for repairs and maintenance. References are important. If you have a friend or associate who's had good experiences with a particular repair shop for a long period of time, by all means bring your car there and see for yourself.
If you're trying to locate a reputable shop without a personal reference, you can find repair shops in your area that employ automotive technicians certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and check company histories with the Better Business Bureau.
